Allison Maher began her theatrical studies in high school as a member of St. Vincent St. Mary's Leprechaun Theatre Guild where she was involved in the production of seven plays and musicals throughout her four years. After high school her first professional theatre positions were as a stage management intern at Akron Summit Theatre for their 2015 production of Bad Jews, and as the assistant stage manager for the Rubber City Shakespeare company's 2015 production of As You Like It!
Allison recently graduated from Kent State University where she earned her degree as a Theatre Studies Major with a focus in Stage Management in the school of Theatre and Dance. While at Kent State Allison worked on a variety of theatrical productions including Thoroughly Modern Millie, Irena's Vow and Hedda Gabler. She also focused a great amount of her time as a stage manager for the dance division at Kent State. She was the assistant stage manager for Dance '16 Elements in Motion and the stage manager of the 2016 Student Dance Festival her sophomore year. Most recently she worked as the stage manager for Kent Dance Ensemble: Womentum, Kent State's pre-professional dance division.
In between her junior and senior years of college Allison was given the opportunity to progress her professional career as an assistant stage manager for Porthouse Theatre's 50th Anniversary Season last year. Her credits with the company include Anything Goes and Oklahoma!, the latter of which she also served as weapons master for the length of the production.
Outside of theatre and stage management Allison was a part of her high school band where she played trombone, baritone and tuba in the low brass section, giving her a strong understanding of music and the ability to sight read.
